Section 179 is a tax deduction available to businesses
Dear ATEL Customer
Section 179 is a tax deduction available to businesses to help offset the cost of staying current with technology. With a current cap of $500,000 available to businesses, exactly how much money could taking advantage of Section 179 save you on your 2016 taxes?
That depends on the amount of qualifying hardware and software you purchase and put to use prior to the December 31, 2016 deadline. Ask ATEL to give you an estimate of what your business could potentially save with section 179 and the PATH Act ruling. ATEL is not a licensed Accounting Company and all advice is for comparison purposes only and not considered tax advice.
It's important to remember that only qualifying technology purchased and in use at your location prior to the December 31, 2016 deadline will be eligible for the Section 179 deduction.
If you have any questions about qualifying for Section 179, reach out to me at shandelman@atelcommunications.com or 858.646.4600 to schedule a complimentary consultation. I would be happy to have a more in depth discussion with you.
Please keep in mind that ATEL is a full service NEC Dealer and Managed IT Equipment VAR. While we can offer you our advice, you should direct any questions about the finer points of Section 179 to your CPA or tax attorney.
